Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium is a Government initiative which provides additional funding to schools in order to enable them to better support the children who qualify for Free School Meals (FSM). This group of children has been identified nationally as achieving at a lower level than other groups and the aim of the Pupil Premium (PP) is to ensure the schools 'close the gap in the children’s attainment. Recently, this initiative has been extended to Ever 6, which means that any child who has qualified for FSM within the last six years is included. Furthermore. Children who have parents serving in one of the armed forces are also included in this initiative and receive Service Premium for up to five years after the parent has left the service (Ever 6 child). Schools also receive Pupil Premium Plus for children in care and adopted children.

Please let the school office know if you think your child falls into one of these categories to enable us to claim additional funding and subsequently use it to provide your child with some support where they need it.
