About Us
Our History
Christ the King College is a joint-faith comprehensive school. We were founded in 2008 by the merger of a Church of England middle school and a Roman Catholic middle school. We are the only provider of 11-18 faith-based secondary education on the Isle of Wight, attracting students from across all areas of the Island.
Our College operates on the principle of living, learning, and working together - as exemplified by Jesus Christ.
Since its formation, Christ the King has become highly successful and popular. Despite expanding our student numbers to the current roll of 1,200, we have maintained our distinctive family ethos and high levels of pastoral care.
Motto
Our College motto is Via Veritas Vita (The Way, The Truth, The Life) which is from the Book of John. Along with our school name, our motto reminds us that Jesus is the only path to God and eternal life.
Mission and Ethos
Our Mission is to explicitly uphold and promote the Christian ideals of valuing every individual and caring for the needs of others.
We strive to live out the Gospel values and to educate our young people to make the right choices about the way they choose to live their lives. We seek to be inspired by His teaching within our College and reflect His love and values as we live and learn together in our community.
